Frequently Asked Questions.
What if I don’t have one of those insurance plans?
If I’m not in-network with your plan, you are welcome to self-pay. I’ll provide a superbill (a detailed medical receipt) that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
What if I can’t afford lactation support?
I never want finances to prevent a family from receiving the care they need. If cost is a concern, please reach out to me directly. Together, we can review your insurance coverage, establish a payment plan, or arrange a sliding scale option. Every family deserves support on their feeding journey.
Will I definitely get reimbursed for self-pay visits?
Reimbursement is not guaranteed. Some clients receive full or partial reimbursement, while others do not. I recommend checking with your insurance provider about out-of-network lactation benefits.
What types of visits do you offer?
I offer virtual and in-home lactation consultations, including prenatal education, latch and supply support, pumping plans, return-to-work prep, and more.
How long are visits?
Initial consults are usually 60–120 minutes, and follow-up visits are typically 45–60 minutes, depending on your needs.
Can I use HSA/FSA funds to pay for lactation services?
Yes! Lactation care with an IBCLC is an approved expense under most Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
What is your Cancellation Policy?
If the Client cancels the appointment less than 24 hours before the appointment, the credit card on file will be charged the cancellation fee of $100.00.
A valid credit card is required for all Consultations, and will not be charged unless there is no-show or less than 24 hours cancellation for appointments.
Please let email or call and let me know if you have questions or have extenuating circumstances. You will always receive a receipt from Shoreline Lactation and Beyond, LLC.
